Hello friends! It’s been a while! 👋
I get it – summer, sunshine, and nature are tempting us away from the harsh realities of island survival in SCUM! This quiet period in the gaming industry is totally natural, and we completely understand. Despite this, our Echelon UA team is constantly working behind the scenes. After all, this autumn we’ll be celebrating our first anniversary! It feels like so much has happened, doesn’t it? As if we’ve been here much longer already! 😉
Echelon UA’s Plans for the Upcoming SCUM Release
As you might have heard, we’re eagerly awaiting the official release of SCUM very soon, with tons of updates, improved graphics, and everything else the developers are promising! While the gaming community can sometimes be skeptical about future changes, Echelon UA has its own vision and path. We aim to stay on trend with the game, not create “our own unique game,” but simply adjust certain rules to make the adventure of survival on the island as comfortable as possible for all of us.
The developers are promising a full wipe of all characters, gear, and bases across all servers with the release. This is a fantastic opportunity to start fresh with the official launch! We’re really hoping everything will work flawlessly, and most importantly, that the gameplay will be truly engaging.
Upcoming Changes on the Echelon UA Server
We’ll discuss game updates and new features many more times, but for now, I want to share our plans for changes on our server:
- Our principles remain unchanged: We always strive to adhere to our vision for server settings, ensuring fair and honest gameplay for all players, regardless of their playstyle or experience.
- Flexibility in settings: Since the developers will provide access to all server files and the ability to edit more parameters with the release, our plans might still change. Everything will become clearer after the game’s release and we gain access to the server files. In any case, we’ll announce all changes in advance.
- Reliability above all: We’re not planning to host the server “at someone’s house.” Echelon UA prioritizes reliable hosting with technical support and DDoS attack protection. It might be more expensive, but it guarantees stability and comfort for all players.
- An equal start for everyone: Along with the in-game update, as I mentioned, all characters, squads, loot, bases, etc., will be wiped. Given this, we’ve decided that your funds saved in Discord will also be reset to zero. Since a fresh wave of newcomers will arrive with the release, we want everyone to start the new SCUM experience on equal and fair terms.
- Accelerated start: At the beginning of the game after the release, we’ll temporarily increase the skill progression rate for all players! This way, you won’t have to beat each other with sticks or run into walls to level up agility again 😉.
- Reworked economy: In the current economy settings, we wanted to allow players to not overly value loot and money, but rather spend it freely on new equipment and destroying enemies. However, we see that many continue to hoard money, gold, and loot in bases. So, we will completely rework the server’s economy, changing the logic of the PvP trader to make it more interesting and fun to acquire and defend your loot. PvE traders will also be focused specifically on PvE and limited to a certain assortment for trading. This way, players will better understand where to buy what. The assortment of traders will be reviewed and updated according to our initial ideas.
- Updated Welcome Pack: We will completely revise the welcome pack. It will continue to be aimed at newcomers but will provide an opportunity to survive longer or start the game without too much stress.
- Daily Pack in question: We’re discussing whether we even need a daily pack. We see that players often miss the adventure of searching for and preparing food, and the number of players who don’t use the daily pack is significantly higher than those who receive it regularly. Generally, loot appearing out of thin air slightly detracts from the immersion in the game.
- A tougher SCUM: Overall, we want to make the game on our server a little tougher and more demanding for players, especially those focused on PvP.
- Bot development: Work is ongoing to expand the functionality of our bots both in-game and in Discord.
We still have many ideas, friends! We have new concepts for events, and we’re working to make the conditions in Discord even more comfortable. Perhaps additional privileges will appear for squads and server donors that won’t affect in-game advantages, but we’ll sort all of that out after the official game release.
While the launch date is still unknown, we’re enjoying the game and hoping for awesome content that the SCUM developers have prepared for us!
