The first 2 months of our SCUM server have flown by! Our community is growing and developing! There are already the first destroyed bases and victims looted to tears. We sympathize with those affected and rejoice for the victors!
SCUM is not an easy game, and the entry barrier for newcomers is quite high. But our community is always here and happy to help beginners! 🤗
🌟 We created this server for friends and ourselves because we had unpleasant experiences on other servers where admins interfered with the gameplay, influencing player relationships and creating an uncomfortable atmosphere by dividing squads into “friends” and “outsiders.” We try to stay out of your gameplay and not interfere with your enjoyment of the game, although we keep a close eye on rule-breakers.
🏅 We didn’t expect the server to become a leader among Ukrainian servers within 2 months and enter the top 300 out of 5,676 servers in SCUM! Also, we’re in the top 3 on the top-games site and in the top 30 on the Wargm site, thanks to your votes! Thank you for that!
🎁 We held several events for players with great prizes and have many more new and exciting ideas. A little hint: we recommend practicing (even in solo mode) flying a plane, as something epic is coming!
📜 While running our server, we encountered players who kept finding loopholes in the rules. Despite our desire to provide free space without strict restrictions, we had to edit some of the rules, which we announced in a dedicated channel.
🎥 We collaborated with some content creators; some collaborations were highly successful, while others brought a disappointing experience due to certain streamers’ lack of responsibility and failure to meet the terms of the agreement. We’ve taken this into account for the future and are now more careful with partnership terms. If you have any recommendations for potential collaborators, let us know!
📣 We conducted an ad campaign on YouTube, creating videos and adding them to announcements. We’re pleased with the results, although often players joined our Discord without knowing about SCUM, just interested in the cool video and the community. While they’re not exactly our target audience, it has increased our Discord membership!
🚀 We boosted our server to expand Discord functionality and have a memorable link that players can easily remember.
🤝 We’ve made friends with other servers and are actively learning from their experience. Now, we have people to turn to when new problems arise. It’s incredibly helpful to have mentors with experience in managing gaming servers—one of them is a leader among SCUM servers.
💰 We chose the most affordable hosting plan to minimize connection issues and lag on the server. Yes, it’s a bit costly, but we sincerely thank everyone who donates to support server development—it allows us to plan the budget for bills optimally. Join this generous group and support the community!
⏳ We understand that the game’s audience isn’t as large as that of other popular games, but we’re thrilled with the growth of our server. We know that, besides advertising, server development takes time. The server’s reputation needs to mature, and it’ll only get better.
🤖 Our Discord now has several bots with various functions to enhance our community experience. Some are still being refined, while others are already proving their worth. For example, there’s an AI bot in the general chat that can answer certain game-related questions (although it sometimes spouts nonsense), a bot that can play music in a voice channel, a bot that helps admins detect rule violations better, and others.
💡 We are full of energy and ambition about our future within the SCUM community, with many ideas and plans.
🛠️ We’re already planning changes that will take place on the server with the next major update from the developers, which includes a wipe. We’re also considering your suggestions that you share with us.
🏆 A series of events is in development, which we plan to create for you. However, we’re waiting a bit to increase the number of active players and stable squads who play on our server.
🌍 Going forward, we will position ourselves as a Ukrainian server open to everyone, regardless of language, faith, or race. Through our example, we aim to show that Ukrainians know how to be friendly and fair. However, we are, of course, not welcoming to those who do not support our community’s culture and server rules.
We sincerely thank everyone who is with us on the challenging path of developing a new server in a not-so-popular yet thrilling survival game! We are confident that our community will be among the best because we already see amazing players among us who know what PvP is but always act sportsmanlike and respect their opponents!
