SCUM 1.0 on Echelon UA: A New Era of Survival Begins!
Greetings, fellow survivors!
The historic moment we’ve all been waiting for is approaching. The world of SCUM is about to be reborn with the official release of version 1.0, and Echelon UA is ready to lead you into this new, thrilling chapter. On June 17th, we will turn the page together and start writing our story from a clean slate.
We have countless ideas, but first and foremost, we want you to experience the game as the developers envision it. So, get ready for a fresh experience, as significant changes are coming to the server!
The Global Start: Full Wipe
As expected with the official launch of the game, there will be a full progress wipe on the server on June 17th. This is a requirement from the developers for the transition to version 1.0.
- In-game Progress: All characters, bases, and acquired items will be deleted.
- Discord Bot: Our bot’s database will also be reset. All accumulated funds will be gone.
This is a chance for everyone to start fresh, with equal opportunities and new ambitions. Every player will receive an updated Welcome Pack after registering.
Server Philosophy: Experience the Game Anew
We want you to have an authentic survival experience, so the loot settings and drop chances will remain as the developers intended. However, to make the start more dynamic, we are introducing a few temporary and permanent changes.
- Skill Gain & Metabolism: In the first month after the release, we will increase the skill gain speed and metabolism. This will allow you to bypass the initial grind and dive into the most exciting parts of the game faster.
- Welcome Pack: The starter kit will be supplemented with more food to give you a small head start.
- Daily Pack: We want to encourage self-sufficiency, hunting, and cooking skills. Therefore, the Daily Pack, if it remains at all, will be symbolic and humorous in nature, so as not to impact the survival economy.
- Rewards for TOP Players: If the reward system from the developers doesn’t change, TOP players for kills and lockpicking will receive a unique item that cannot be found in the game world. It can be exchanged with the administration for exclusive
rewards (details will follow later).
The Island Map: New Rules of the Game
- PvE Zone: Only one PvE zone will remain—sector B4. In this zone, it is forbidden to lock or build over NPC buildings.
- The “Great Wall”: The rule prohibiting construction near the Great Wall is being cancelled. The updated textures and the tactical disadvantages of such bases (blocking escape routes) make this location not as privileged as it once was.
- Flag Capture: The flag capture feature will be disabled. Our experience has shown that this mechanic was not used for its intended purpose of capturing bases, but often served as a tool for vandalism. This is our way of protecting the long-term gameplay of our community from temporary and “fly-by” players, and to preserve the effort you invest in building and team formation.
- x3 Loot Zone: The large city remains a zone with increased loot. And to make things even more interesting, we will later add another unique zone to diversify your adventures!
Economy: Risk and Reward
We have analyzed player behavior and noticed that the tendency to hoard outweighs the desire to take risks. Therefore, we are changing the very logic of trade to encourage activity and PvP.
- Trader Distribution:
- PvE (green) traders (safe zones) will be in sectors B4 and A0.
- PvP (red) traders (PvP zones) will be in sectors Z and C.
- Assortment:
- PvE traders will offer basic survival items, but their assortment will not include large-caliber weapons or top-tier military equipment.
- All the best military gear will only be sold at PvP traders. Want the best weapons and armor? You’ll have to take a risk and head to the red zone, where not only melee combat but also vehicle lockpicking is allowed.
This is just the beginning, and we will be closely monitoring your feedback and the server balance. The general rules remain in effect, and our goal is unchanged—to create the best community where everyone feels comfortable surviving.
